Russian regional carrier Tomsk Avia (TSK) will take delivery of the first of three Cessna 208B Grand Caravans in September. The nine-passenger aircraft will be used on local routes in the Siberian regions.
TSK’s fleet includes six Antonov An-24s, one An-26 and Mi-8T helicopters. In July, TSK operated several flights using Bombardier CRJ200s rented from regional carrier IrAero, based in Irkutsk.
At the end of 2010, Krasnoyarsk-based AeroGeo became the first commercial operator of the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan in Russia. The airline took the delivery of three aircraft and now flies them to destinations in the Krasnoyarsk region.
Currently, five Cessna 208Bs are operating in Russia; seven aircraft will be delivered to different customers by year end.
Earlier this year, Russian regional carriers took delivery of L-410s to develop local route.
