To supplement Dassault’s spares inventory in Singapore this year, it partnered with UPS Singapore to create a regional spares distribution center that will have nearly 20 times the previous inventory. As part of a global shipping company, UPS Singapore can leverage its well-known logistics and distribution capabilities to ensure a high level of availability for Falcon operators throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Dassault plans to have $9 million in spares stocked at this regional distribution center by the year’s end.
Worldwide, Dassault has $700 million in spares inventory composed of 130,000 unique part numbers placed in 13 distribution centers across 11 countries. The largest inventories are located in Teterboro, New Jersey and Paris-Le Bourget, France which are near major airport hubs and allow for expedited shipping and delivery.
For several years now, Dassault Falcon has maintained a 98% spares service level, defined as on-time shipment on the day required by the customer. In addition, through strategic planning and forecasting, this year Dassault has executed 92% same-day shipments on the more than 250,000 transactions with Falcon customers.
