Dubai Airshow building up to welcome record numbers
The Dubai Airshow organiser, F&E Aerospace, has officially started the build-up to the 12th edition of the event, now less than eight weeks away. Running from 13 to 17 November 2011 at the city’s Airport Expo, the Dubai Airshow will be the biggest yet, with up to 1,000 exhibitors from 50 countries, an increase of 12 percent over the 2009 event, and more than 55,000 trade visitors expected, a six percent increase from 2009. New companies account for some 20 percent of the growth of this edition of the Dubai Airshow and a number countries from key regions, such as Australia, France, Jordan and the USA, have increased their exhibition stand and/or chalet and pavilion area to optimise their presence. To cater to the increased business, the Airport Expo’s Reception Building is being extended and the outdoor chalet and static aircraft display area has been re-designed to accommodate more outdoor exhibits. Alison Weller, Managing Director of F&E Aerospace, said: “The overall growth of the show will be about 10 percent. Space is being made available this year by the increasing trend by exhibitors to move their presence outside, creating pavilions along the static park line, which offers their guests the opportunity to enjoy networking and hospitality facilities while being close to the aircraft on display.” To date, 11 company pavilions are being erected outside, alongside the 103 double- and single-storey hospitality chalets that line the static aircraft display.
