Stratos Jet Charters, Inc., a worldwide air charter agency has expanded its one-way charter service that offers deep discounts to charter buyers in search of a one-way or empty-leg charter flight.
Stratos Jets' President and founder, Joel Thomas, explained that a "one-way" charter flight is an empty segment, or leg, of a previously sold, round-trip flight. Given the cost of fuel and the expense of a flight crew, it is generally in aircraft operators' best interests to sell a one-way flight, even at a discount.
When a one-way flight is created, aircraft operators rely on responsible jet charter agencies, like Stratos Jets, to find travelers with similar routings that lie within the path of the one-way. According to Thomas, one-way flights can save travelers anywhere from 30 to 40 per cent over standard round-trip pricing, even with added repositioning.
