StandardAero has named Robert Lummus Vice President and General Manager of StandardAero Business Aviation’s Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) facility. Lummus had been serving as the facility’s VP/GM in an acting capacity since April.
As the site’s lead executive, Lummus’ top priority will be on customer satisfaction and service quality. Operational oversight will focus on all of the site’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services and maintaining Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and other governing global aviation agency authorizations and certifications. In addition, he will ensure LAX continues to meet and exceed all OEM, local, state and national regulatory requirements.
Prior to his acting site leadership role, Lummus served as LAX’s Director of Operations where he was responsible for profitability of engine operations, as well as overall customer satisfaction and engine growth. Prior to joining StandardAero, Lummus served in a variety of engineering and leadership roles with McDonnell Douglas Corporation and Landmark Aviation. Lummus was also an aircraft mechanic lead while serving in the US Marine Corps where he led the repair and overhaul of aircraft engines and aircraft systems.
StandardAero Los Angeles is a Honeywell Authorized Service Center (ASC) for inspections, repair and overhaul of the Honeywell TFE731, CFE738 and TPE331 engine product lines. LAX performs maintenance, preventive maintenance and alterations on: Bombardier, Dassault Falcon Jet, Gulfstream, Embraer, and Hawker Pacific (Hawker) aircraft. The facility also maintains ASC agreements for the Falcon Jet, Bombardier, Rockwell Collins, and the Embraer product lines.
