UK charter company FlairJet has taken delivery of Europe´s first Embraer Phenom 300 following handover of two of the light business jets in December. The first aircraft - registration G-MGNE - is set to enter commercial service before the end of January.
The one-year-old Oxford airport-based company became the European pioneer in 2010 for Embraer´s smallest business jets following delivery of the region´s first Phenom 100. FlairJet has since added two more of the entry-level types.
All the Phenoms are operated under management, but the privately owned company plans to take delivery of its own Phenom 100 in 2012. "We will be the first company in Europe to fly the Phenom 300s commercially," says FlairJet chief executive David Fletcher.
The aircraft "is a serious contender to the more established Bombardier Learjet and Cessna Citation Excel business jets. It also gives us access to airports such as Moscow or Ankara in Turkey with five or six passengers", he adds.
