Airshow organisers Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) for the Kingdom of Bahrain are in attendance at the Middle Eastern Business Aviation (MEBA) event in Dubai this week to promote the Bahrain International Airshow 2012 (BIAS). CAA say that 35% of chalets have already been sold for the event which will take place from 19-21 January 2012, following on from the success of the launch show in 2010.
The inaugural Bahrain International Airshow in January 2010 was an unprecedented success with over USbn in orders confirmed and some major deals and initiatives announced by participating companies at press conferences during the show. More than 30,000 people visited the show over three days including delegations from 25 countries.
The Supreme Organising committee for BIAS announced last month at NBAA in Atlanta that it already has signed commitments for 35% of the total chalet space available at the 2012 event which will continue on the successful model of a maximum number of 40 companies taking part, each hosting VIP guests in luxurious, tailor-made five star chalets.
Companies confirmed to participate in 2012’s event thus far include: Bahrain Air, Bahrain Airport Company, Bahrain Airport Services, BAPCO, Bexair, Blenheim, Cessna, Bahrain Economic Development Board, Gulf Air, Gulf Aviation Academy, Gulf Technics, Lockheed Martin, MENA Aerospace and TAG Aeronautics.
FIL Events & Exhibitions Director Amanda Stainer said: “As a result of the success of the first event in Bahrain last year, we are delighted to have received a good number of early sign up’s for BIAS 2012. We have also received verbal commitments to participate from several other companies which we are confident of formalising early in the New Year. Chalet space is certainly in high demand and we would therefore encourage companies who wish to take part to contact us as soon as possible.”
