Gulfstream names Mark Thibault produst support programs director in Asia

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has named Mark Thibault regional director, Product Support Programs. He is based in Hong Kong. In this new position, Thibault is responsible for overseeing all product support efforts for Gulfstream aircraft fleet operators in Asia. His duties include coordinating aircraft maintenance and support requirements for Gulfstream operators located in or traveling through Asia, and supervising the growth of the Gulfstream support network. "Asia is one of the fastest-growing markets for Gulfstream, so it is crucial for us to continue to build our product support there," said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream Product Support. "Having a staff in place that is dedicated to serving operators´ spare parts and maintenance needs will further enhance our network." Thibault will support the growing presence of Gulfstream in China, which includes a new field service representative in Beijing and the newly created position of international materials distribution manager, which is also based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Gulfstream, Thibault spent more than three years in increasingly responsible roles as the director of maintenance, director of flight operations and chief operating officer for business-jet operator and maintenance provider Metrojet Limited in Hong Kong. His 30-year aviation industry career includes the following positions: director of maintenance/business manager for The Air Group in Van Nuys, Calif.; director of quality control for Ameriflight Inc. in Burbank, Calif.; director of quality control and lead flight engineer for Saudi Aramco Oil Co. in Saudi Arabia; technical operations systems specialist for Gulfstream in Savannah; president/CEO of Thibault Aviation Service Inc. in Beaufort, S.C.; an F-4 and F-18 plane captain/aircraft mechanic/quality assurance inspector in the U.S. Marine Corps; and a Lockheed C-130 flight engineer in the Marines. Thibault holds a bachelor´s degree in aviation management and a master´s degree in international business from Almeda University. He is a single-engine land and a single-engine seaplane-rated pilot, and has an airframe and power plant (A&P) license with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspector authorization. Thibault reports to Mike West, director, Product Support Programs.
