The Indian Air Force (IAF) communications squadron, the official carrier of the president, the vice president, the prime minister, and a host of Indian and foreign dignitaries, is in the process of modernizing its fleet with the induction of new generation Boeing business jets. The squadron has turned 60 and to commemorate the occasion, IAF chief Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major released a postal first day cover here Wednesday.
The three business jets, which will begin arriving from April, will be equipped with the latest self-protection suits, "thus providing our VIPs the highest level of protection from any ground based or airborne threat", an IAF release said.
The aircraft are "specially configured for VIP comfort. Its interiors create a working environment befitting the VIP´s official stature", the release added.
