CAE has announced a major expansion of its business aviation training portfolio, as rival FlightSafety International is selected to provide factory-authorised training for the HondaJet.
Over the next two years, CAE will add 16 new training programmes for business jets built by the six major manufacturers: Bombardier, Cessna, Dassault, Embraer, Gulfstream and Hawker Beechcraft. "This will address effectively 100% of the aircraft in production," says Jeff Roberts, group president, civil training.
New Level D full-flight simulators and other training devices will be installed at existing or new locations within the company´s worldwide training network. As part of the expansion, Emirates-CAE Flight Training in Dubai has ordered Bombardier Global Express and Hawker 800XPi simulators for delivery by mid-2009.
FlightSafety will install a HondaJet simulator at Honda in Greensboro, North Carolina ahead of the first delivery in 2010. "As deliveries grow they may provide simulator training in other locations," says Michimasa Fujino, HAC chief executive.
