Embraer received the FINEP 2007 Award for Technological Innovation, yesterday, in the Product category, for the project of the Phenom 100 very light executive jet that combines bold performance features, comfort and design with low-cost operation and maintenance. The ceremony was held in the Brazilian capital, Brasilia,, and Luis Carlos Affonso, Embraer Executive Vice President, Executive Jets, received the award from Brazil’s Vice President, Jose Alencar.

Embraer of becoming one of the world’s primary manufacturers of executive jets, offering
innovative and high technology products to the market.”
The Financing Agency for Studies and Projects (Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos - FINEP) organizes the FINEP Award, which had over 730 participants this year, and it supports all of the phases of the innovation process, from laboratory research to the development of markets for innovative products and processes.
“This Award is the Oscar of Innovation. With this trophy, the agency recognizes the good ideas that give structure to the knowledge community,” commented Carlos Ganem, FINEP’s Superintendent of Institutional Relations.
Created in 1998, the initiative encourages entrepreneurial projects throughout Brazil and has included new categories over the years. Throughout its ten editions, 3,029 projects have been evaluated, which shows the growing importance of the Award.
