Baltic Aviation Academy Invites to an Unusual Open Door Day in an Aerodrome
Baltic Aviation Academy is set for a unique weekend long open door day event ‘Mission: Pilot’ to be held on June 30th – July 1st. The event will take place in one of the oldest aerodromes in Europe, Darius and Girenas aerodrome in Kaunas, Lithuania. ‘Mission: Pilot’ will familiarize those wishing to become pilots with facts from pilots’ everyday life, differences of the available training programs and tips from professional pilots. The participants of the event will be also introduced to the main criteria for selecting and applying to a chosen flight training organization. In addition to seminars about psychological and physical preparation needed for a pilot and the ways to start operating an aircraft, all attendees will be able to observe demonstrational flights with Tecnam 2002 JF airplanes and test-drive the aircraft themselves. The event will be supported by professional flight instructors at Baltic Aviation Academy and current Ab Initio students. ‘We have noticed that a lot of people still believe in some myths about pilot’s duties and the nature of the work. Therefore, our aim is to confirm or deny those myths so that people would have all the information necessary to succeed in becoming pilots. The ‘Mission: Pilot’ event is for those willing to combine the obtainment of valuable knowledge with a great weekend spent closer to aviation and professional pilots’, claims Marius Brazys, the FTO Sales Project Manager at Baltic Aviation Academy. Baltic Aviation Academy regularly organizes educational events in order to provide useful information about the aviation industry and the career path of a pilot. In addition to open door day events, Baltic Aviation Academy has launched a cycle of aviation seminars that are planned to be held from May to December in the following cities: Moscow (Russia), Sankt – Petersburg (Russia), Madrid (Spain), Warsaw (Poland), Lisbon (Portugal), Milan (Italy), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Stockholm (Sweden). The documentary movie ‘3 planes – 6 countries – 2000 kilometers’ about the journey of three Tecnam aircrafts flown from Italy to Lithuania will be demonstrated publicly for the first time during “Mission: Pilot” days. Currently 20 students from France, Italy, Kenya, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Russia, Tajikistan, and Ukraine study at Baltic Aviation Academy’s Ab Initio School. The training process is being conducted by 7 ground and flight instructors. The school offers private pilot license (PPL), commercial pilot license (CPL), The Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) modular and integrated courses, including distant computer-based study modules. The admission for September 2012 Ab Initio groups at Baltic Aviation Academy started on 1st March.
