Russian Helicopters manufactured 303 helicopters

Following the results of 2013 Russian Helicopters Holding Company (subsidiary of Oboronprom Corporation, part of Russian Technologies State Corporation) manufactured 303 helicopters for Russian and foreign customers, the holding’s press-service reports. According to the holding’s forecast, its consolidated proceeds (Russian Accounting Standards) will exceed 140 billion rubles in 2013, the press-service noted. “In 2013 Russian Helicopters Holding Company continued its development as a modern, highly efficient and dynamic Russian company”, - Russian Helicopters CEO, Alexander Mikheev, said. “We fulfilled the state defense order, exported combat helicopters and produced many batches of reliable and safe commercial helicopters for Russian and foreign customers”. The modernization of production continued in 2013: over 800 new equipment items were put into service by the enterprises, more than 100 events aimed at improving the environmental friendliness and safety of helicopter production were held. Good results were achieved in the area of investment projects: the technological development of the machining, galvanic and composite production was completed. Output per employee increased by 12.4% to 3.4 million rubles per staff member, said in the holding’s statement. As of December 11th 2013, the firm order backlog stood at 772 helicopters worth over 370 billion rubles. According to the contracts Russian Helicopters’ enterprises have 100% workload for 2014, 73% - for 2015 and 25% - for 2016. “Russian Helicopters’ priorities for the coming year have been set. In particular, the focus areas for development of light, medium and heavy helicopters have been defined. One of the top-priorities for 2014 is intensification of development of the new multi-role Ka-62, Mi-38, and Mi-171A2 helicopters. An agreement with AgustaWestland for joint development of a new light helicopter with a weight of 2.5 tons was signed. Russian Helicopters and Turbomeca signed an agreement on opening a service center to support the entry into service of the Ka-226T and Ka-62 powered by French engines”, - Russian Helicopters added. In the area of development and production of new helicopters the holding will continue to develop the infrastructure of National Helicopter Manufacturing Centre in Tomilino (Moscow Region), where Russian Helicopters’ key intellectual assets are based: the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant and Kamov Design Bureau. In the area of servicing the Russian-produced helicopters the holding will continue to follow its development strategy aimed at creating a global after-sales service system, which allows switching to the “full life-cycle” helicopter sales, ensuring provision of high-skill support over the helicopter’s service life, the company explained. In terms of corporate development, Russian Helicopters will continue to optimize its management system to ensure a smooth transfer from financial to operational management models. The primary objectives are completion of the restructuring and optimization of the key enterprises, the company said.
