UTair Aviation takes delivery of its eighth Airbus A321 aircraft

In the network of the fleet renewal program the eighth Airbus A321 aircraft (tail number VQ-BTW) was delivered to UTair Aviation directly from the manufacturer’s site under the contract for delivery of 20 jets of the type signed in 2012, the carrier’s press-service reports. "Thanks to deliveries of new jets and decommissioning of over 50 aircraft, the average age of the carrier’s airliners will be 8 years by the end of 2014. It is the fourth A321 fitted with Sharklets in the fleet of UTair. Four more jets of the type will be delivered to the carrier this year”, - the company noted. The wing tip devices are made of light-weight composites and are 2.4 meters tall. They offer operators up to four percent fuel burn reduction, improve the jet’s aerodynamics and help reduce СO2 and NOx emissions. Moreover, Sharklets help increase the jet’s range and payload. In accordance with the contract A321 jets delivered to UTair are powered by CFM56-5B and feature a single-class cabin layout seating 220 passengers. The liners are fitted with state-of-the-art ergonomic Pinnacle seats providing the highest level of comfort. Every seat row is equipped with four AC outlets intended for charging of mobile devices. “The carrier operates these jets on international and domestic routes with high passenger traffic, for example, from Moscow to Anapa, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Kheviz, Thessaloniki, Dushanbe, Tashkent, etc. The aircraft purchased in the network of the carrier’s fleet renewal program have high level of reliability and flight safety, low fuel consumption, operating costs and emissions", - the carrier added.
